How to set Stock Oversize Preferences

Set your Stock Oversize Preferences to define how Toolpath automatically generates stock dimensions for your parts

Toolpath automatically generates stock for your parts based on Stock Oversize Preferences, and the "Rounded to Nearest" option allows you to standardize results to common bar stock dimensions.

Toolpath currently applies Stock Oversize Preferences universally to ALL parts.

To set Stock Oversize Preferences:

  1. Click on your name in the bottom left hand corner and select Preferences:
    Preferences
  2. Select the Stock tab and enter your stock preferences:
    StockPreferences
    1. X OVERSIZE: The amount of extra stock outside the part bounding box in the X direction. This input is applied on both sides of the part.
    2. X ROUNDED TO NEAREST: The X direction rounding increment for the final stock size. In the example above, the X direction stock cut will be done with a band saw, so we round to the nearest 1/16" (0.0625").
    3. Y OVERSIZE: The amount of extra stock outside the part bounding box in the Y direction. This input is applied on both sides of the part.
    4. Y ROUNDED TO NEAREST: The Y direction rounding increment for the final stock size. In the example above, the Y direction stock is defined by common bar stock, available in 1/8" (0.125") increments.
    5. Z TOP OVERSIZE: The desired height from model to stock top.
    6. Z ROUNDED TO NEAREST: The Z direction rounding increment for the final stock size. In the example above, the Z direction stock is defined by common bar stock, available in 1/8" (0.125") increments.
    7. GRIP STOCK: The desired stock depth from model to stock bottom. The grip stock should equal the depth of your vise step plus your desired OP1 clearance from the bottom of your part to the top of your vise jaws.
