How to Upload Parts
Upload or import your parts (in STEP format) to Toolpath using the instructions below to begin estimating and analyzing for manufacturability!
Toolpath enables you to upload CAD files via email, directly into the Parts page, or through the Toolpath Add-in for Fusion.
NOTE: Toolpath currently only accepts single body STEP files with no modeled threads.
Uploading Parts via Email
When you receive an email from a customer with new STEP formate parts to analyze, save time by forwarding it to uploads@toolpath.com - just like you’d forward a RFQ from a client. Just make sure that you forward from the email used for your Toolpath account.
After forwarding the email, you’ll receive an email confirming your upload, and you can visit app.toolpath.com to see your part analysis and estimates.
Uploading Parts Directly into Toolpath
To upload a part directly into Toolpath:
- Go to the Parts page (app.toolpath.com/parts).
- Drag and drop the STEP file onto the page, or;
- Click on New Parts to open Finder to upload the STEP file.
After uploading your part, Toolpath will automatically run it's estimation and Machinability Report. Please see How to use the Machinability Report for more information.
Send to Toolpath from Fusion
To send a single body Fusion part directly to Toolpath:
- Ensure you've installed the Toolpath Add-in for Fusion (please see How to Install the Toolpath Add-in for Fusion).
- Click the Toolpath Add-in Drop Down and select Send to Toolpath.
- Select if you'd like to generate setups automatically or use existing setups from the Manufacture workspace.
- Click OK.
- This will open a new tab in your web browser and generate the Toolpath Machinability Report.
