How to use Solid Bodies as Custom Stock
Use Custom Stock for greater control over stock sizing, pre-profiled, or cast stock!
Stock from Solid can be used through two methods:
- Uploading a multi-body step file and selecting the stock body in Toolpath.
- Sending existing setups with a stock body from Fusion via the Toolpath add-in.
Uploading Custom Stock to Toolpath
- Upload a multi-body file to Toolpath
- In the Overview tab, select the stock. This can be done by setting the Stock Mode and Body or through the kebab menu on the stock body:
- Select the orange Regenerate button to regenerate the part with the selected stock.
Using Custom Stock from Fusion
Toolpath will use Stock from Solid in when sending a part with existing setups to Toolpath. The solid body should be selected as the Stock in the first setup, and subsequent setups should use the "From preceding setups" option.
- Create a Fusion document with the Part and Stock positioned appropriately.
- Ensure the first setup uses Stock from solid.
- Ensure subsequent setups use From Preceding Setup mode:
- Use the Send Part to Toolpath button with Use Existing Setups. Check only the setups you'd like to include:
- Select OK to send the part to Toolpath. This will upload the part to Toolpath using your pre-defined stock and setup orientations and open the part in a new web browser window
