Tool Matching Overview

Toolpath comprehends the part geometry and determines which type and size of machining tools are best suited for each feature on the part.

Toolpath provides a standard library of hundreds of tools in a "Default Cut Configuration" that represent most common standard and metric tool types, along with default feeds and speeds for common materials. You can also upload your tool library from Autodesk Fusion and configure Toolpath to use your preset feeds and speeds.

From the tools in the Cut Configuration you've selected, a roughing and finishing tool is selected that is suited to complete the most restrictive area of each feature (i.e. the tightest radius or the longest reach).

If no suitable tool is available in the library, Toolpath will make recommendations to modify the feature geometry to allow the feature to be machinable with the available tools.

In some cases, Toolpath will automatically recommend small deviations the allow a feature to be machinable.
