How to Upload a Tool Library

Toolpath delivers Manufacturability Reports based on part geometry and the tools you have available in your shop to give the best estimates for your unique machining capabilities.

To ensure accurate results, upload your Fusion Manufacture Tool Libraries to Toolpath using the instructions below:

  1. Export your Fusion Tool Library by right clicking it and selecting Export library:

  2. Select .JSON or .TOOLS as the export file format and click Save:

  3. Open Toolpath in a web browser and go to the Tool Libraries page.

  4. Once in the Tool Libraries page, you can:
    1. Click the Upload Tool Library button to open Mac Finder/Windows File Explorer, or, 
    1. Drag and drop the downloaded Tool Library anywhere on the window!
  5. After adding the new library to Toolpath, Toolpath will apply Magic Presets. Learn more about Magic Presets, and how to edit presets, in How to Manage and Apply Tool Presets
  6. The newly uploaded tool library will now be shown in the list of tool libraries:

  7. You can view and search the list of tools by clicking on the library name or through the vertical ellipsis on the right hand side.

  8. To view individual tool details, click the vertical ellipsis on the right hand side and select View Tool. This will open a new window with tabs to show the tool geometry details and available presets.
